‘Grimm’ season 6’s episode 5, titled “The Seven Year Itch,” is set to feature a new ravenous Wesen on the hunt for humans. Meanwhile, David Giuntoli talked about his character Nick’s connection with the mystical stick discovered in the Black Forest.
The synopsis for “The Seven Year Itch” posted on TV Guide states, “A new Wesen with a deadly hunger is unearthed after lying dormant for seven years; at the same time, Nick (David Giuntoli), Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) investigate a bizarre murder in a local park.
Meanwhile, Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) continues to be haunted by a ghost from his past; Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) seek a doctor's opinion on whether Diana's (Hannah R. Loyd) premonition is true; and an extremely weak Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) is found in the tunnels by Adalind (Claire Coffee).”
According to Christian Times, Nick will be investigating a murder at a local park together with Hank and Wu. At the same time, they will have to face a ravenous new winged Wesen that has emerged after seven years in hibernation. It seems that the creature has an appetite for humans.
Nick and his allies will have to move fast in order to defeat the Wesen and send it away before it kills more people. However, this task will not be so easy.
Meanwhile, the upcoming episode will also feature an extremely weakened Eve and may have to rely on Adalind for help. Adalind will find Eve in the catacombs beneath Nick’s loft. Eve may be succumbing to weakness perhaps because of her encounter with the stick in the previous episode.
When Eve tried to take the stick, it burned her and left a scar. There may be more to the stick than meets the eye. Nick also felt the effects of Eve touching the stick, which left him somehow weakened as well.
It seems that the incoming episodes will reveal more about the connection between Nick and the mysterious stick that Nick and Monroe dug up in the Black Forest. Giuntoli hinted at this connection during a recent interview with TV Guide.
Giuntoli said, "The stick is not just going to be a little stick. It's the worst stick in the world… One of the lessons we've learned is that if something has been buried for hundreds and hundreds of years, just don't go looking for it. If it was intentionally buried, just leave it alone. The Grimm ancestors put it there for a reason and now Nick is becoming sort of addicted to the stick."
‘Grimm’ season 6’s episode 5, titled “The Seven Year Itch,” is scheduled to air on February 3, 2017 on NBC. It was directed by Lee Rose and written by Jeff Miller. It will be followed by episode 6, titled "Breakfast in Bed," scheduled for February 10.
