‘Grimm’ season 6’s episode 12, titled “Zerstorer Shrugged,” will feature a dark force entering Portland in search of Diana. Nick, Capt. Renard, and Adalind will band together to protect Diana, whose life is in grave danger. Meanwhile, actor David Giuntoli admitted that the show will have no “fairytale endings.”
The synopsis for “Zerstorer Shrugged” posted on TV Guide reads, “The prophecy that was uncovered comes to pass when a dark force arrives in Portland with its eyes set on Diana (Hannah R. Loyd). In an effort to protect her, Nick (David Giuntoli), along with Capt. Renard (Sasha Roiz) and Adalind (Claire Coffee), returns to the scene of his first investigation as a Grimm.
Back at the Spice Shop, Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell), Eve (Bitsie Tulloch) and Rosalee (Bree Turner) make a discovery that uncovers the origins of the mysterious stick. Meanwhile, Hank (Russell Hornsby) and Wu (Reggie Lee) are called to a crime scene that is connected to the gang's greatest threat.”
Diana’s life will be in grave danger when a dark force makes its way to Portland. Nick will have to turn to the past for answers in an effort to protect Diana together with Capt. Renard and Adalind.
The promo opens to Nick and his allies returning to the cabin. Capt. Renard concludes, “There’s no safe place.” Diana then exclaims that the threat has finally arrived saying, “He’s here!” In the next scene, the group struggles to fight off the dark force bursting out of the mirror.
Monroe, Eve, and Rosalee will also manage to uncover more about the origins of the mysterious and powerful stick after stumbling into an important detail back at the spice shop. It seems that the three will finally learn where the stick came from.
Meanwhile, executive producer Jim Kouf addressed the series’ end during a previous interview. According to Yahoo! TV, he said, “We are disappointed that it is coming to a close [but] 5 1/2 seasons were all they wanted… We were only done because NBC was done. If NBC said ‘more,’ we’d obviously do more. If [fan petitions worked and] Netflix said, ‘We’d do more episodes,’ we’d sure be interested in doing it.”
Main actor David Guintoli admitted during an interview with Blastr that a hopeful “fairytale ending” will not be in the works when the series comes to a close. He said, "Our show is a fairy tale show that wasn't really about fairy tales. And our ending is a fairy tale ending that really isn't a fairy tale ending, but it's a definite ending.”
When asked about what the final episodes have in store for the series’ characters, he replied, “Well, I think the predictions from Aunt Marie and my mother Kelly more or less come true. And you can watch the fallout of those predictions coming true.”
‘Grimm’ season 6’s episode 12, titled “Zerstorer Shrugged,” is scheduled to air on NBC on March 24, 2017. It was directed by Aaron Lipstadt with a story by David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf and teleplay by Breanna Kouf. It will be followed by "The End," directed by David Greenwalt and scheduled to be released on March 31.
