‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 20, titled “Heroes Rise: Pretty Hate Machine,” is set to follow Gordon as he races against time to stop the Court of Owls from detonating a bomb of Alice Tetch virus. Meanwhile, Fish Mooney will be returning on the series.
The synopsis posted on TV Guide reads, “Gordon (Benjamin McKenzie) races against the clock to save the city from the Alice Tetch virus, but Lee Thompkins (Morena Baccarin) intercepts with a plan of her own;
Alfred (Sean Pertwee) sees a big change in Bruce Wayne (David Mazouz) after his work with the Shaman (Raymond J. Barry); and some of Gotham's worst villains band together.”
The upcoming episode is set to follow Gordon face one of his biggest challenges yet: stopping the Alice Tetch virus from infecting the whole of Gotham City. According to Comicbook Movie, time is not on Gordon’s side as the notorious Court of Owls prepares to unleash their biggest and most deadly weapon for the purpose of “cleansing.” While Gordon races against time to track down the bomb, Lee will come up with a plan of her own and possibly ruin everything for him.
Meanwhile, Alfred will notice a significant change in Bruce after he returns from training from the temple Shaman. It will be interesting to see Bruce’s new powers and abilities, as well as his new perspective on life.
The trailer opens to Bruce standing in front of the members of the Court of Owls as a member questions his attendance. In the next scene, Gordon declares, “The Court of Owls is planning an attack on the city. Be ready for anything.”
Bruce is then seen with the Shaman as he receives what seems to be orders to detonate the bomb that would destroy the enormity of Gotham City. The Shaman says, “This will trigger the bomb… and out of the ashes, a dark hero will rise.”
In the final scene, Bruce and the Shaman are seen watching the city from a high-rise building as Bruce carefully holds the trigger in his hand. The Shaman then urges Bruce to press the button.
Meanwhile, Fish Mooney (Jada Pinkett Smith) is set to make her return on the series. According to Fansided, Smith’s character was last seen taking Doctor Hugo Strange away with the help of her refugees from Indian Hill. Perhaps Fish will team up with Penguin (Robin Lord Taylor), who is building a villainous army of his own.
‘Gotham’ season 3’s episode 20, titled “Heroes Rise: Pretty Hate Machine,” is scheduled to air on Fox on May 29, 2017. It will be followed by episode 21, titled "Destiny Calling," is scheduled to be released on June 5.
