The hit TV series ‘Gotham’ recently aired its new episode titled “A Dead Man Feels No Cold” and judging from the title itself, the episode circles around Victor Fries (Nathan Darrow) and his transition to more villain-y character that has something to do with cold. So here is a review of last night’s episode 13. Reminder: Spoilers ahead!
We all know how dedicated Fries was in taking care of his wife as seen in the last episodes. But this time, he has gone into a more drastic measure in saving her. He has fully changed his character and identity and became the most dreaded villain as of the moment, Mr. Freeze.
He is seen freezing officers to get what he wants. When episode 13 begins, Gordon (Ben McKenzie), Bullock (Donal Logue) and the GCPD are hunting down Freeze. They track him to a chemical plant that has liquid helium, but when Gordon and Bullock arrive they find police officers frozen solid. Freeze was to escape with the liquid nitrogen and left a note on a block of ice with a message for the police: “Free my wife.”
Judging from what he just did, it might be a little hard for the police to follow his orders. But they saw it as a way to lure Freeze and capture him finally.
Capt. Barnes (Michael Chiklis) comes up with a plan to move Nora to the medical wing at Arkham to lure Freeze there so they can catch him. Lee is treating Nora, and she tells Gordon that she will be going with her. This worries Gordon as it may harm Lee and the baby.
Meanwhile, Strange is doing shady things in his lab as he puts Penguin through some sort of electroshock therapy in order to cooperate. When Gordon and Bullock arrive, they see Penguin and believe he’s been drugged. Strange says they put him on a sedative to keep him from hurting himself, but it’s really a part of Strange’s agenda.
And when the time of the plan’s execution, he helped Freeze escape in exchange for one of the cryogenic solution containers that Freeze uses in his gun. Freeze agrees and leaves a container, while taking keys to the getaway car.
As Freeze is about to freeze his wife, his wife tricked him by switching the formula to be used in the gun, so instead of freezing her, it will kill her instead. This deeply saddened Freeze that he froze his self as well. Strange tells the police that Freeze died at Arkham, but he really took him to Indian Hill. Strange was able to save him and who knows what he is going to do with Freeze.
