Google recently released two smartphones Nexus 5X and 6P and the rumor mill is now abuzz with Nexus 7 tablet that might be released next year.
According to latest rumors, a new edition of Nexus 7 tablet might be in the works at Google. The earlier two Nexus 7s were manufactured by Asus, but reports now suggest the new variant will be manufactured by Huawei. Phone Arena reports that though Huawei hasn’t been locked down by Google yet, the former is showing interest on continuing its partnership with Google.
Speaking of specifications, it is expected that Nexus 7 will maintain a 7-inch screen size and come in metal unibody. G4Games did not directly suggest anything about the processor in the new tablet but mentioned Huawei’s latest tablets MediaPad M2 and X2. Both models have metal body and run on a Kirin 930 octa-core processor, along with 2 or 3 GB of RAM depending on the storage configuration.
Moreover, rumors suggest that the tablet will be released at Google I/O 2016 (either May or June). It is likely to maintain the price band seen for the earlier version. The Nexus 7 released in 2013 was priced at $229 for the 16 GB model and $269 for 32 GB model.
