Need more Google Drive storage? Apparently, you can get it for free if you post a review.
TIME.com reports that the search engine giant is offering up to one terabyte (TB) of Google Drive storage for free, and among other things, as a form of reward to users who leave reviews and photos, answer basic questions, or update other information for its Local Guides feature. Aside from the storage (which is currently offered at USD9.99 per month), Google will reportedly reward reviewers with early access to the company’s latest products, a Nexus handset, and a chance to attend a summit for reviewers.
The call for user-generated content was said to be Google’s strategy to gain more market share from industry leaders Yelp and TripAdvisor, Endgadget said. Moreover, the offering is also said to be a form of enticement to generate quality content for its Local Guides. for those who really make an effort. A user who will generate comprehensive reviews on a hundred different locations, for example, gets to win the free 1TB storage.
