A Save-The-Date puzzle published by The Google Developers on their official Twitter account @googledevs revealed that the highly-anticipated 2017 Google I/O Conference will be held at The Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California on May 17 to 19.
CNET said the location of Google’s biggest event of the year is so close to the search engine giant’s headquarters that you can spot the stage’s twin spires from Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s office.
On January 25, The Google Developers published what seems like a Sudoku-type puzzle and wrote, “Around the world, from here to there, to the most clever minds, the secret will share. #googledevs #savethedate.”
GSM Arena said that although it would be impossible for a lone person to solve the puzzle, people on the Internet have, which led to the result of discovering the actual date and location of the tech conference, which will be again held in the great outdoors.
Android Police said the complicated Save-the-Date was figured out on a dedicated Discord channel. The first clue was posted on the Google Developers G+ page. The result revealed a hidden site, which would redirect you to a Github repository, along with a set of coordinates pointing to a remote Brazilian jungle. The next puzzle led to an unlisted video on YouTube. People discovered that the captions in the video transcribed to another set of coordinates. The third puzzle, when solved, revealed a location in Warsaw, Poland. The fourth one contained a riddle which was embedded in a corrupted image, which revealed the country Thailand. When you assign the name of the countries on a chess board while adding and subtracting from the stated letter values, it read "L IN E THEATRE SHO RE AM P H I," which is an anagram of Shoreline Amphitheater. Moreover, the forum also discovered the dates by solving the accompanying images in the puzzle as well.
