The action role-playing game “Godfall” launched last November as one of the games that console players can only access through PlayStation 5. However, a 4Chan rumor is now claiming that its exclusivity is bound to end this year with launches planned for the Xbox Series X/S systems and Google Stadia.
4Chan ‘leak’ claims ‘Godfall’ is launching on more platforms in 2021
A new gaming rumor appeared on 4Chan before the weekend, claiming that “Godfall” will be available on more platforms throughout the year. The game, developed by Counterplay Games and published by Gearbox, is currently only playable on PS5 and Windows PC.
The supposed leak claimed that “Godfall” will arrive to the Xbox Series X/S sometime between May and June. It is also rumored to be added to the Xbox Game Pass catalog, which recently got new 20 AAA games developed by Bethesda.
“Godfall” could also become accessible on other devices as it is reportedly launching on Google’s cloud gaming service, Stadia, the same source claimed. The platform allows fans to play high-profile games even without high-end consoles and PCs. Meanwhile, developers are also rumored to launch a collector’s edition of the game for both PS5 and Xbox Series X/S platforms before the end of the year.
The emphasis on the information coming from 4Chan is important. The website has been a source of some accurate leaks before, but it is also known for hosting much incorrect information in the past. It then goes without saying that Xbox and Stadia users should take this “Godfall” rumor with a large amount of salt.
Is it entirely impossible for ‘Godfall’ to launch on other platforms?
Considering that “Godfall” was published by Gearbox -- a company not part of the Sony Interactive Entertainment group -- seeing the game launch outside of PS5 is not entirely impossible. On the other hand, many third-party developers and publishers have also entered exclusivity agreements with Sony in the past. But in many cases, these are just timed-exclusivity deals.

This is also not the first time that “Godfall’s” exclusivity on PS5 was reportedly going to run for only half a year. Notable gaming news source Nibel pointed out one of the game’s PS5 promo images that stated the game will not be available on other consoles before May 12 this year.
