Viewers were introduced to the Goblin Slayer and a young adventurer called Priestess in the first episode of the anime, but the backstory of the title character wasn’t explored as he spent most of the episode keeping goblins off the delicate-looking Priestess. However, anime fans will get to know more about the main protagonist in “Goblin Slayer” Episode 2 as he interacts with a person from his past.
If the anime follows the source material written by Kumo Kagyu and illustrated by Noboru Kannatuki, viewers should meet a new character called Cow Girl in “Goblin Slayer” Episode 2. This girl happens to be a childhood friend of the Goblin Slayer. He was taken in by Cow Girl’s uncle after he was orphaned.
“Goblin Slayer” Episode 2 begins on the farm where the Goblin Slayer and Cow Girl live, and it shows the main protagonist talking with Cow Girl and doing his morning routine before he heads to town to deliver the farm’s goods.
Meanwhile, a man appears at the guild, and he will tell the Guild Girl that goblins have attacked his hometown recently and he is looking for adventurers who can help him take care of the problem. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have much to give as a reward for the deed, and he also admitted that adventurers are not that interested in dealing with goblins. Well, he hasn’t met the Goblin Slayer yet.
The Goblin Slayer will drop by at the guild later on, and he ended up accepting two goblin-related tasks. With the help of Priestess, he will take on more goblins in “Goblin Slayer” Episode 2. Aside from the goblin missions, the episode will also reveal more about the main protagonist’s backstory. Viewers will get to understand the Goblin Slayer’s motives as a flashback his town being attacked by goblins is shown.
“Goblin Slayer” Episode 2 is scheduled to air on Oct. 13.
