A recent leak via Taiwan’s official rating board may have cost Microsoft and The Coalition some valuable surprise points by not only providing the box art for “Gear of Wars 5,” but also its release date. If the details provided by the leak are to be believed, the title is coming out on Sept. 10. The box art itself might provide clues as to what the game will be about.
A trailer for “Gear of Wars 5” or “Gears 5,” as it was simply called, was actually already provided a while back. It would seem that the story this time around revolves around Kait Diaz receiving messages via visions that she is driven to understand. This is likely why she is at the center of the box art, as noted by GameRant.
The working theory with regards to how the story of “Gear of Wars 5” will go is that Kait will be hooked into releasing some terrible enemies as a result of her own actions. She will be bringing her friends along with her and there will be tensions as to whether or not the journey is worth it along the way. Suffice it to say, there is going to be some worthy tests to friendship involved.
If the leak by Taiwan’s rating board is accurate, gamers will learn this for themselves when “Gear of Wars 5” comes out on Sept. 10. However, since this is a leak and the information was taken down moments later, it might be worth taking this detail with a healthy chunk of salt.
On the matter of “Gear of Wars 5” being exclusive to the Xbox One, this isn’t really that surprising. Since it is a Microsoft property, it only makes sense that it would not appear on the PS4. Then again, the game might be on PC.
