Samsung's Galaxy S25 will exclusively feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 worldwide, while the upcoming Fold7 and Flip7 foldables are set to utilize the Exynos 2500 chip, a new rumor from Korea reveals.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 Exclusively in Galaxy S25 Worldwide
A great deal of back and forth has taken place over the course of the past several months concerning the chipset(s) that will be used to power Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy S25 series, which is anticipated to be released in January at the very least.
In the beginning, GSM Arena was informed that it would be an exclusive event for Exynos, but then two different reports informed us that Snapdragon would be present everywhere.
Latest Rumor Confirms Snapdragon for Galaxy S25
Now, another rumor, this time coming from Samsung's own country of Korea (via Hankyung), proves that the Snapdragon has won.
According to reports, the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra will all feature Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in their respective global versions. It would appear that this practice was carried out in order to "maximize the performance" of the S25 series.
Exynos 2500 Reserved for Samsung's Fold 7 and Flip 7
Instead, the Exynos 2500 will be utilized in the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7, both of which are scheduled to be commercially available in the latter half of the following year. Given that the foldables have, up until this point, relied on Snapdragon CPUs, this is an intriguing turn of events.
In relation to the source, Samsung will have the opportunity to bolster the 2500's performance and increase its yield until they are released.
