“GTA 6” isn’t expected to come out of Rockstar Games studio anytime soon as the company just recently released “Red Dead Redemption 2.” But even though this is the case, fans are still asking when exactly is the sixth title of the series coming out?
Right now, Rockstar Games and Take-Two haven’t announced anything yet but developers are supposedly working on “GTA 6” under codename “Project Americas.” Although the studio has done a remarkable job in creating an engaging world and gripping storyline, some fans are asking for more variety, PCGamaesN reported.
Specifically, a female protagonist that would be among the leads included in “GTA 6.” The previous title saw three lead characters included in the title and if the next game follows the same pattern, one of those leads could be made a female.
Of course, Rockstar Games is careful about this development as they don’t want to include a female lead simply to follow the current trend. However, co-writer Dan Houser did say that the idea has crossed their minds. After all, games with strong female character saw their fair share of success over the years with “Tomb Raider,” “Horizon Zero Dawn,” and “Mirror’s Edge” among them. Houser said that if they do find a natural place that they can slot the female character in “GTA 6”, then they would absolutely love to do it.
Every hardcore gamer out there knows that the success of a game doesn’t necessarily rely on the gender of its lead characters but the story they’re telling. That, and gameplay. Fortunately, the developers of Rockstar Games have a strong reputation to accomplish both and it would be interesting to see what they would do in “GTA 6.”
This is especially true since there are rumors out there claiming that the map of the sixth installment is supposedly going to include the entirety of the United States. However, given the scope of a such a map, it’s likely that the rumors will stay that way. Right now, there are a lot of avenues that Rockstar Games can explore that would eventually make its way to “GTA 6.” And since the developers still have years to develop the title, they have plenty of time to cherry-pick which is best to incorporate in the sixth installment.
