“Grand Theft Auto 6” is one of the video game titles that fans are certain will be released despite the lack of official announcement from Rockstar Games. However, the gaming community is always looking for definitive updates, especially for franchises as huge as “GTA.” It is then not surprising that the tiniest details are being interpreted as possible clues that “GTA 6” could be in development already.
Speculations that “GTA 6” is already on the drawing board was recently ignited after reports noticed that Rockstar Games posted a list of job openings for its studios. The company was looking for various types of programmers for Rockstar North, the studio known for developing that latest “GTA” video games.
Among other career openings, Rockstar North needs game coding experts specifically a Gameplay/AI Programmer, Junior Gameplay/AI Programmer, Animation Programmer, Graphics Programmer, Senior Graphics Programmer, Camera Programmer, Physics Programmer, and Senior Physics Programmer. These job listings are speculated to be meant for the “GTA 6” team.
Furthermore, Dexerto noted that some of the job descriptions for the Rockstar career openings could be suggesting the company is looking forward to work on a title for next-generation consoles. “Work with others to expand our next-generation graphics pipeline including advanced lighting and rendering techniques, and special effects,” one of the descriptions reads. Could that game be “GTA 6”?
When Rockstar officially announced “Red Dead Redemption,” it is safe to assume that the development of the game was already in the latter stages. Without official news on “GTA 6,” it is possible that work has started, but few or nothing might have been finalized at this point.
Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser previously hinted this to be the case. “It’s really unclear what we would even do with it,” Houser told the British GQ about “GTA 6” last October.
