Rockstar Games finally dropped the official trailer for the sixth installment of its popular game title, "Grand Theft Auto." However, the video game company's original schedule for the release was not followed.
Rockstar Games was forced to unveil the "Grand Theft Auto VI" trailer earlier than planned because the clip had already been leaked on social media, particularly on X (formerly Twitter). The subsidiary of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. also confirmed the 2025 launch of the much-awaited action-adventure game via the first trailer.
Early Release of the Game Preview
According to ABC News, Rockstar Games posted the GTA VI preview about 15 hours early. The company had no choice but to release it as it was already making rounds online. The gaming firm also confirmed that it was not the original schedule and had to make adjustments due to the leak.
In its post on X, Rockstar Games invited fans to watch the "real thing on YouTube" since the Grand Theft Auto VI trailer is already out. Then again, neither Rockstar Games nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, provided any details about the leak.
First Look Into the Sixth GTA Installment
BBC News reported that the latest "Grand Theft Auto" title is part of the highly successful game series and is a sequel to GTA V, released in September 2013. At its launch, the fifth installment was a smash hit and became the second-bestselling video game of all time.
A first look into the GTA VI showed that the game is set in Vice City. The lead character was also revealed to be someone named Lucia. It was noted that this is the first time the game has chosen a female protagonist, as the leads have been male characters since the 1990s.
Meanwhile, Rockstar Games has yet to announce GTA VI's launch date. What is certain is that it will be available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox's X Series consoles.
