G-Dragon has returned after being out from the limelight for almost two years. The BIGBANG leader was welcomed by 3,000 fans who came from various parts of Asia, like Japan and China.
The 31-year-old singer briefly talked with fans after his short discharge ceremony before riding the van that fetched him in Yongin. It was a kind gesture from G-Dragon, for some of the fans have reportedly camped outside of the base after arriving the night before GD’s release schedule.
T.O.P. greeted his co-band member for the first time after the discharge
The oldest in the BIGBANG group, TOP, greeted G-Dragon immediately after coming home from the army. It was revealed that he called him up, and on social media, TOP posted a funny photo that was originally edited by one of his fans. Fans could not help but praise him for his humor, and it surely cheered up GD as well.
G-Dragon’s first official activity
Rather than returning to his fans with a new song or show, the singer whose real name is Kwon Ji Yong wants to secure his position as a fashion icon first. He was gone for a long time, and fans missed his unique fashion sense, and now he is making a comeback in this area through collaboration with international shoe brand Nike and his own fashion line called PeaceMinusOne.
On Nov. 4, the famous maker of sneakers and sports items announced the launching of Air Force 1 PARA-NOISE (AF1 PARA-NOISE). It is a pair of shoes that were created by fusing art, culture, sports, music, and fashion.
According to Korea’s My Daily, the new shoe design represents everything about G-Dragon. It fused together with the idol singer’s identity, ideals, and love for art and music. With the collaboration, GD is excited and said that he hopes that the new Nike’s Air Force 1 will “start of a revolutionary style that respects various perspectives, circumstances, and preferences, bringing together which has become a cultural icon across all generations, and my identity that has been shaped by many experiences.”
Meanwhile, Newsen reported that the limited edition of the shoes will be released in Korea first. The global launch will follow on Nov. 23, and the Nike Air Force 1 PARA-NOISE will also be available online via the company’s official website.
