Not many economic data and events scheduled for today, but some with high volatility risks associated.

Data released so far:

  • Japan: Nikkei manufacturing PMI rose to 53.8 in April. Vehicle sales up 0.5 percent y/y in April.
     
  • Australia: RBA kept interest rate unchanged at today’s meeting.

Upcoming:

  • United Kingdom: Markit manufacturing PMI report will be released 8:30 GMT, along with money supply and consumer credit report. BRC shop price report will be released at 23:00 GMT.
     
  • Canada: February GDP numbers will be released at 12:30 GMT, followed by Markit manufacturing report at 13:30 GMT. BoC governor Poloz is set for a speech at 18:30 GMT.
     
  • United States: Markit manufacturing report will be released at 13:45 GMT, followed by ISM manufacturing PMI and construction spending reports at 14:00 GMT.
     
  • New Zealand: Q1 unemployment report will be released at 22:45 GMT. The global dairy auction is scheduled today.
     
  • Australia: AiG performance of manufacturing report will be published at 23:30 GMT.
     
  • Auction: U.S. will auction 3-month and 6-month bills at 15:30 GMT.
