FxWirePro: Government shutdown fears ease as Trump administration looks other ways to fund border wall

The fear of an imminent government shutdown in the United States thanks to a showdown between the Trump White House and Democrats’ controlled House of Representatives over the funding of the border wall along the Southern border of the United States, has somewhat eased as White House press secretary Sarah Sanders announced that the White House doesn’t want the government to shut down and President Trump is looking at other ways to fund the border wall, “we’re looking at every avenue available to us possible.  The President has asked every one of his Cabinet Secretaries to look for funding that can be used to protect our borders and give the President the ability to fulfill his constitutional obligation to protect the American people by having a secure border. So we’re looking at the other options.  In the meantime, we’ll see what the Senate does, and we’ll let you know when we have an announcement on that front.”

The S&P500 briefly recovered from the day low on the news but the index declined further ignoring the news as all eyes are focused on the rate decision by the Federal Reserve.

We still expect a budget battle between the White House and House of Representatives, despite the President looking for other options to fund the wall.
