‘Fuller House’ Season 2 Features the Return of the Tanner Family as they Celebrate Holidays; Guest Stars Include Original Series’ Cast Members

Candace Cameron Bure stars on Netflix's 'Fuller House'

‘Fuller House’ season 2 is set to feature the return of the Tanner Family as they celebrate various holidays. Meanwhile, it was confirmed that guest stars for the incoming season include original cast members from ‘Full House.’

According to Hollywood Life, Candace Cameron-Bure revealed that the incoming season will feature the Tanner family as they celebrate the holiday season. She said, “Season 2 is all about the holidays, so we’re celebrating Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Eve.”

She continued, “We have a ton of great guest stars on the show. My personal favorite and I think Andrea’s too was New Kids on the Block.” Cameron-Bure plays main protagonist D.J. Tanner Fuller, a widowed mother juggling home life with her career as a veterinarian.

Co-stars Jodie Sweetin and Andrea Barber also revealed that their own children will be making cameos in season 2. Sweetin said, “Our two girls were on the show… Her daughter and my little girl are very good friends, so they got to do an episode where they were background in Max’s classroom, and they were so excited. It was really fun.” Barber added, “It was a very full circle moment for us to be the moms of the kids on stage and having to fill out work permits.”

Sweetin plays Stephanie Tanner, D.J.’s younger sister who leaved her life in London to help D.J. raise her children. It was reported that Stephanie will be getting a new love interest in the new season. Barber plays Kimmy Gibler, D.J.’s best friend who moves with D.J. and Stephanie to help out as well.

It was also revealed that the original cast members of the popular show ‘Full House’ will be making surprise cameos in the incoming season as well, according to Pop Sugar. David Lipper, who played D.J.'s boyfriend Viper on ‘Full House’, previously confirmed that production had already contacted him about reprising his role.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen will be appearing in season 2 since they declined to do so in season 1. Sweetin revealed during a previous interview, “We’ve tried everything… I think we’ve kinda given up.”

D.J. will also be facing familiar faces from her past including her wealthy ex-boyfriend Nelson Burkhard (Hal Sparks) and her old highschool frenemy Kathy Santoni. It also seems that both of D.J.’s former love interests will be moving on with their lives. Matt is reportedly dating a yoga instructor while Steve will be dating a woman named C.J.

‘Fuller House’ season 2 is set to be released on Netflix on December 9, 2016. It was renewed on March 2 and production began on May 5. It will be composed of 13 episodes.
