Frito-Lay’s Doritos flavored tortilla chips brand has entered the boozy game with the launch of its nacho cheese-flavored spirit. This was made possible through its collaboration with the Empirical Flavor company, which specializes in the application of culinary innovations in flavor to spirits and more.
Doritos nacho cheese spirit will be sold in stores for $65 per 750 ml. bottle. This product is the very first alcoholic drink that was made to match the flavor of Doritos’ tortilla chips range.
Availability of Doritos x Empirical Nacho Cheese Drink
The cooperation is also a partnership between Empirical and PepsiCo, which owns the Frito-Lay brand. The new product has been described as a customized liquid form of Doritos’ nacho cheese tortilla chips.
As per Fox Business, the new Doritos x Empirical Spirit simply tastes like the snack brand’s nacho cheese chip. The latter said that the new drink is its most unexpected collab, and the consumers may try them as it is now being released in the United States.
It is now on pre-order starting today, Dec. 13, and the delivery has been set for January 2024. The beverage will also be available in select stores in California and New York, while other states may buy the product online.
Alcohol Content of Doritos Nacho Cheese Spirit Beverage
Maxim reported that the limited-edition Empirical x Doritos Nacho Cheese drink will bring the iconic flavor of the popular tortilla chips to the market, but this time, it is drinkable and contains alcohol too. It was said that this can also be used to make cocktails such as Margarita, Bloody Mary, or Old Fashioned which is served over ice or simply neat. The boozy Doritos drink contains 42% alcohol by volume (ABV).
"Doritos is all about disrupting culture and bringing our fans unexpected, bold experiences," Frito-Lay North America’s marketing senior vice president, Tina Mahal, said in a press release. "We are always pushing our fans to try new things, so we figure it's time we disrupt the spirits category by offering our iconic nacho cheese flavor in a bottle."
