It seems that there will be a long waiting period before “Food Wars” Season 4 is finally released. As the previous installment recently wrapped up in June, the next season is expected to drop sometime around 2019, Otaku Art reported.
“Food Wars” Season 4 is going to proceed with the Central arc. Indeed, the teaser for the upcoming installment features Soma going head to head with Hayama after the latter sided with Central. But it isn’t just the Central arc that’s implied in the footage as it heavily emphasizes a train as well.
This means that “Food Wars” Season 4 will go all the way to the Promotion Exams arc, which will have the remaining Totsuki rebels clash against Central’s new Elite Ten. The challenge is expected to be an aggressive one as both camps try to knock each other out in an attempt to remain in the academy.
As most fans know, the school only has a 1 percent passing rate due to its rigorous training and extremely high requirement when it comes to a student’s capacity. This will remain as one of “Food Wars” Season 4’s main themes while also touching on other concepts to create diversity in its plotline.
As for the title of the next installment, it’s going to follow its predictable title pattern. “Food Wars” Season 4 is called “Fourth Plate” with the previous three seasons being titled with their respective numbers.
“Food Wars” Season 4 is expected to mimic how its predecessor was handled and will likely be given 24 episodes as well. And given that the next installment will cover a lot of plotlines from its original source, fans can expect a fast-paced story development moving forward. Audiences will surely have their cravings sated as drama, challenges, and a whole lot of kitchen action are going to unfold in “Food Wars” Season 4.
