Sneakerheads are buzzing over two major collaborations: CNCPTS x ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 "Out of Office" and Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship "Game Royal." Both releases showcase bold designs and intricate craftsmanship, with launch dates set for November 2024.
CNCPTS Teams Up with ASICS for the GEL-Kayano 14 ‘Out of Office,’ Set for November Release
Long-time sneaker enthusiasts recognize CNCPTS as one of the most reliable collaborators in the industry. After teaming up with Sperry, New Balance, and adidas earlier this year, the Boston-based brand is returning to work with ASICS for their first interpretation of the GEL-Kayano 14.
Oscar Castillo revealed that the inspiration for the "Out of Office" colorway comes from the importance of taking breaks from work to recharge both the mind and creative spirit. Reflecting this theme, the shoe's design features a red-to-green gradient across the heel counter, tongue tag, and ASICS logo, symbolizing the recharging process, with the full battery neon green standing out as the most striking element.
The GEL-Kayano 14 is known for its high-quality materials, and this collaboration elevates that standard. Photos of the sneaker showcase intricate details, such as the tumbled leather overlays and contrasting geometric patterns on the midsole, reflecting CNCPTS' heightened attention to craftsmanship.
Though an exact release date for the ASICS x CNCPTS GEL-Kayano 14 "Out of Office" has yet to be announced, rumors suggest a November launch. CNCPTS creative director Deon Point has already teased the pair, and official details are expected soon.
Awake NY Honors NYC Roots with Jordan Air Ship ‘Royal’ Collaboration, Launching November 2nd, 2024
Awake NY continues to bring its authentic New York attitude to the global sneaker scene, emphasizing diversity, culture, and that signature hustle. According to Sneaker News, earlier this year, the brand made waves with its first-ever collaboration with Jordan Brand, releasing a Jordan Air Ship design that blended NYC boldness with founder Angelo Baque’s passion for the Air Jordan 1.
In a March interview, Baque emphasized his commitment to authenticity, stating, “The last thing I want to do is make it something it ain’t…our customer is too smart for that.” This thoughtful approach resulted in a compelling Air Ship collaboration featuring exotic snakeskin details, bold embroidered logos, and rich storytelling in the packaging. The shoe became one of the year's standout releases, appreciated by those who recognized the depth of its narrative.
As promised, Awake NY is following up with a new Royal Blue colorway of the Air Ship, paying homage to one of the two original colorways of the Air Jordan 1 reissued in 2001. The Royal Blue edition mirrors the construction of the red pair, with sharp blue snakeskin accents on the ankle collar, heel strip, and Swoosh. The packaging remains consistent, featuring a map of Fort Greene highlighting the hospital where Michael Jordan was born, along with a set of stickers designed by Brent Rollins.
Sneaker News has confirmed that the Awake NY x Jordan Air Ship "Royal" will drop exclusively at Awake NY on November 2nd, 2024, along with a complete collection of Jordan x Awake NY apparel in matching royal blue.
