Fifa has agreed to a new deal with QatarEnergy to fill all of its global partnership slots ahead of the 2022 World Cup.
The liquified natural gas provider is now the second Qatari company in Fifa’s global sponsor category.
QatarEnergy is in the top sponsorship tier of Fifa, soccer's global governing body, alongside the likes of Visa and Qatar Airways.
QatarEnergy linked up with Fifa last year as an official partner of the 2021 Arab Cup in Qatar.
Fifa recently added deals with the Crypto.com cryptocurrency exchange platform and educational technology firm Byju’s.
The tournament’s regional sponsor roster also includes communication technology firm Vivo, electronics manufacturer Hisense, Chinese dairy brand Mengniu, as well as household names McDonald’s and Budweiser.
Fifa president Gianni Infantino said that this year’s World Cup will expand football’s reach and highlight the region.
Infantino added that the World Cup will bring together different cultures from across the globe in Qatar to enjoy the best football in the world in stunning state-of-the-art venues.
