Company’s Advanced ML7 Head Gaskets, One-Piece POWERFORGED® Pistons Among Latest Proven Repair Solutions for Mining Industry
SOUTHFIELD, Mich., Sept. 21, 2016 -- Federal-Mogul Motorparts, a division of Federal-Mogul Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ:FDML), will highlight its expanded offering of leading-edge aftermarket engine repair solutions and other products for the mining industry during next week’s MINExpo INTERNATIONAL conference and exposition in Las Vegas, Nev.
Federal-Mogul is a global supplier of original equipment and replacement engine, sealing, braking, wheel-end, steering and suspension, and visibility products for on- and off-road commercial vehicles and equipment. Its aftermarket portfolio for mining applications includes FP Diesel® engine and sealing components, Abex® friction, MOOG® steering and suspension, National® oil seals, Champion® spark plugs, ANCO® wiper blades, and Wagner® lighting products.
Among the latest cost effective, proven aftermarket repair solutions that will be on display in the company’s exhibit (571-N) are:
FP Diesel ML7 Head Gaskets
Advanced-design multi-layer core head gaskets engineered and manufactured to withstand peak combustion pressures and temperatures as well as increased vertical and lateral motion between the engine block and cylinder head. These gaskets are now available for Caterpillar C15, Cummins ISL, QSL, ISX, QSX and M11, and Detroit Diesel 50 and 60 Series engines.
FP Diesel POWERFORGED® Pistons
Featuring the same ultra-modern one-piece configuration preferred by many leading engine manufacturers, POWERFORGED pistons are constructed from friction-welded, forged steel sections that provide larger cooling galleries and enhanced structural strength. FP Diesel product engineers also created a unique double-band skirt design that helps minimize frictional horsepower loss. These pistons are available for thousands of Cummins ISX15 and QSX15 engines.
FP Diesel Connecting Rod Bearings with G-188 “Intelligent” Material
These new bearings, available for Caterpillar 3500 engines, help equipment operators resolve durability issues encountered with some conventional tri-metal aluminum bearings. Federal-Mogul’s G-188 high-strength, “intelligent” bearing material contains an exclusive overplate that adapts to the engine’s load and temperature conditions for exceptional wear resistance and load-carrying capability.
FP Diesel High Temperature Alloy Turbocharger Gaskets
Federal-Mogul’s patented HTA™ gasket material solves common engine sealing issues caused by rising exhaust temperatures and pressures. The material is superior to conventional 301 “full hard” stainless steel, which can lose mechanical strength and spring tension at temperatures above 425° C. A high-temperature coating is applied for enhanced micro-sealing and abrasion resistance.
In addition to its expanded range of premium aftermarket components, Federal-Mogul will showcase an array of new packaging-related security features for the FP Diesel product range. The new features include advanced visual and automated authentication labels that enable customers to easily confirm that the package contains genuine FP Diesel products.
