Euro area construction output falls sequentially in October, rises year-on-year

Euro area seasonally adjusted construction output dropped 1.6 percent sequentially in October, showed the first estimate from Eurostat. On a year-on-year basis, production in construction rose 2.1 percent in October.

Delving into details, building construction dropped 1.9 percent sequentially, whereas civil engineering fell 1.3 percent. Among member states, largest decreases in production in construction were seen in France and Italy. The highest rises were seen in Slovenia and Slovakia.

On a year-on-year basis, civil engineering saw a rise of 2.7 percent in euro area. Building construction grew 1.5 percent. Among member states, the highest rises in production in construction were seen in Slovenia. The largest falls were recorded in France.
