‘Empire’ Season 3’s episode 9, entitled "A Furnace For Your Foe," will feature the FBI freezing Empire’s assets as they continue investigating hip hop mogul and Empire Entertainment CEO Lucios Lyon. Meanwhile, Cookie is set to organize a free concert for Angelo to help him win the mayoral elections.
The synopsis for episode 9 posted on TV.com reads, “In the fall finale, Cookie (Taraji P. Henson) organizes a free park concert in order to help broaden Angelo's (Taye Diggs) mass appeal while he works to win the mayoral bid. Elsewhere, the FBI freezes all of Empire's assets, a move that has major repercussions, as the investigation into Lucious (Terrence Howard) continues.”
Empire Entertainment’s vital assets remain frozen as the FBI continues to investigate Lucious and it seems that the Lyon’s family’s dark secrets will finally be pulled out into the open. It would be interesting to see how the Lyons will deal with this new problem.
According to International Business Times, Lucious may surrender himself to his half-brother Tariq (Morocco Omari). In the promo for “A Furnace For Your Foe,” Lucious is seen walking towards Tariq asking, “You want me?” Tariq emerged as a federal agent leading the investigative task force.
Meanwhile, Cookie and Angelo’s relationship will go up a notch as she attempts to organize a free concert to gain him more exposure for a mayoral candidacy. Cookie already met Angelo’s mother in episode 7 by throwing her a fancy dinner, which was crashed by the rest of the Lyon family.
Cookie was adamant about making amends by taking Angelo’s mother to her favorite restaurant. Tired of the fakery, Cookie admitted that she wouldn’t trade her family for the world. Angelo’s mother eventually warned her son not to get involved with the dysfunctional Lyons.
It seems that both Cookie and Angelo will not be backing down since Cookie will do everything in her power to help her new beau win the upcoming elections in the incoming episode.
‘Empire’ Season 3’s episode 9, entitled "A Furnace For Your Foe," is scheduled to air on Fox on December 14, 2016.
