‘Emerald City’ season 1’s episode 9, titled “The Villain That's Become,” will follow the Wizard and Langwidere as they get into an intense standoff in the kingdom of Ev. Meanwhile, Lucas will continue to struggle between good and evil and may find himself drifting further away from Dorothy.
The synopsis for “The Villain That's Become” posted on TV Guide reads, “An intense negotiation gets underway when the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) arrives at the Kingdom of Ev. Meanwhile, Dorothy (Adria Arjona) and Lucas (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) find themselves on opposite sides; Jack's (Gerran Howell) decision may have deadly consequences; and Tip (Jordan Loughran) and West (Ana Ularu) solidify their bond.”
It seems that the Wizard’s arrival in the kingdom of Ev will result in an imminent confrontation with Langwidere (Stefanie Martini), the Lady of Ev. Langwidere held a grudge against the Wizard for the death of her mother and her people in the hands of the Beast Forever and is determined to exact revenge.
Based on the synopsis, Langwidere’s lover Jack will be forced to make an important decision that may have deadly consequences. In the previous episode, titled "Lions in Winter," Jack struggled to find his place in Langwidere’s life. According to Christian Post, Langwidere gave him the gift of being a free man to prove a point and Jack eventually left but became caught in a standoff between the Wizard and the kingdom’s guards.
Meanwhile, it seems that things will take a turn for the worst for Dorothy and Lucas ever since the latter found out about his past. Although he was first introduced as one of Dorothy’s closest allies, it was revealed that Lucas was a former member of the Wizard’s guard and that he was Glinda’s lover. He also possesses a violent streak, considering that he killed the witch Mombi when he took part in the massacre of the village Nimbo.
‘Emerald City’ season 1’s episode 9, titled “The Villain That's Become,” is scheduled to air on NBC on February 24, 2017. It was directed by Tarsem Singh and written by Tracy Bellomo. It will be followed by episode 10, titled "No Place Like Home,” directed by Singh and scheduled to be released on March 3, 2017.
