Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are likely to divorce as per reports and the former’s refusal to leave her “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” is being pointed on as the reason. The hosts just cannot give up her hosting job and this reportedly upset her wife so much that they are fighting over it.
In December 2018, Ellen and Portia were interviewed by The New York Times and at that time, the former revealed that although she ended up signing a new contract, she almost rejected the extension until 2020 and it was because of her wife. “Portia gets mad when my brother Vance tells me I can’t stop,” she said.
Upon hearing this, the former model explained why she wants her wife to exit from the show.
“I just think she’s such a brilliant actress and standup that it doesn’t have to be this talk show for her creativity; there are other things she could tackle,” Portia said.
Now, this was how the divorce rumors have started as various publications recycled the story and made it appear that Portia wants Ellen to leave the show but she refused then a series of fights ensued and now they are allegedly heading for divorce.
“It seems they’re always on the verge of a breakup. Most of their friends don’t understand how they’re still married, a source told In Touch Weekly. “Now they’re fighting over the show – Portia wants Ellen to quit, but she won’t.”
A string of divorce news followed but it appears that these are just fabricated stories. To clarify if Ellen DeGeneres and Portia De Rossi are really on the verge of divorce, Gossip Cop did a background check and learned that the claims the couple is “on breaking point” is bogus. The fact-checking site also talked with Ellen’s friend and was informed that the split stories are totally wrong. The two are going strong despite the hosts staying on her show that has been on air for so long already.
