Eliud Kipchoge will soon release his own Nike AlphaFly 3 colorway, while the Nike Air Pegasus Wave debuts on September 14 with a "Coconut Milk" edition.
Kipchoge’s Nike AlphaFly 3 Colorway Combines Innovation with Inspiration for Runners Worldwide
Eliud Kipchoge, the father of the sub-two-hour marathon, is set to release his Nike ZoomX AlphaFly 3 colorway. Having participated in Nike's groundbreaking BREAKING2 project, where he completed a 26.2-mile marathon in under two hours, Kipchoge has become an inspirational figure for runners worldwide. His influence has significantly contributed to Nike's growing presence in the highly competitive running performance industry.
According to Sneaker News, the AlphaFly 3, recognized as the most advanced and high-performing marathon/running shoe available for retail, is the third installment in Nike's revolutionary series. With its ZoomX foam, full-length carbon fiber plate, and forefoot Zoom Air, the AlphaFly 3 enhances running efficiency and endurance. Every colorway released has seen immediate sell-outs, including the recent "Electric Pack" colorway featuring the iconic Safari pattern on the sole.
Kipchoge's special edition colorway features a light Vapor Green upper paired with a Dragon Red outsole that fades into yellow. An enlarged black Swoosh accentuates the design, Kipchoge's logo on the ZoomX sole, and additional personalized details on the in-step and insoles.
Nike Set to Launch Kipchoge's AlphaFly 3 and Air Pegasus Wave 'Coconut Milk' This Fall
This exclusive version of the ZoomX AlphaFly 3 is scheduled for release in the Fall/Holiday 2024 season, with an expected price above the standard $285.
Nike continues exploring the 2000s tech runner aesthetic with the upcoming release of the Air Pegasus Wave, a contemporary reimagining of the mid-decade running shoe.
The Air Pegasus Wave introduces a molded mid-foot lockdown system on the exterior, utilizing semi-translucent TPU for added visual appeal. The toe box features embossed mesh for a retro-futuristic look, complemented by a reshaped toe guard that offers a modern twist on the 2k5 design. The shoe retains its full-length Air cushioning, providing consistent comfort.
First revealed in August, the Air Pegasus Wave will make its U.S. market debut on September 14th. The initial launch will include the Sail/Picante Red/Black/Coconut Milk version and a nearly all-black variant. The vibrant "Cyber" colorway has yet to receive a confirmed release date in the United States.
