EconoTimes, publisher of TokenPost, is going to host a conference to analyse the existing regulatory framework on cryptocurrencies in different countries on December 15, 2017 in Seoul.
The conference, with the theme “Cryptocurrencies & Tokens: What does the law say about them?” will be held at Grand Convention Center, Dangsang-dong, Seoul. The conference partners include Kchain, Metaps+, and finector.
Digital currencies have been growing at an alarming rate in the past couple of months. Bitcoin price recently surpassed the $10,000 mark, while other cryptocurrencies such as Ethereum and Ripple are also showing remarkable growth.
With people across the globe increasingly looking towards digital currencies for investment and other purposes, it becomes important to analyse the legal implications. The conference will offer a platform to compare and assess the regulatory environments in major jurisdictions including South Korea, the U.S., China, Hong Kong, Japan, Switzerland, and Estonia.
HMP Law is bringing together legal experts from these countries to outline the current regulatory frameworks and future outlooks. The attendees will get an opportunity to exchange information and network with industry representatives through reception times after the conference.
The conference comes at a time when the Financial Services Commission (FSC), the South Korean financial regulator, moved to ban all ICO-related activities in the country.
More recently, Financial Supervisory Service (FSS) Governor Choe Heung-sik said that the government is not planning to regulate digital currencies such as bitcoin.
