Just as President Donald Trump often attacks former vice president Joe Biden on social media as of late, Donald Trump Jr. is also launching attacks on social media towards Hunter Biden. Trump’s eldest son gained a wave of backlash after challenging Hunter to a debate.
Don Jr. took to Twitter to challenge Hunter Biden to a debate. What exactly they would debate about remains unclear, but he also wanted Axios’ Jim VandeHei to serve as moderator to that debate. “The MSM loves making a false equivalency between us, so let’s settle it: I challenge Hunter Biden to man up & debate me (Jim VandeHei) moderates. Hunter releases his tax returns & I release mine. Let’s have an open convo about who really profited from their father’s public office!” tweeted Don Jr.
Netizens called him out for his immaturity. One commenter stated that the entire Trump family should release their tax returns as the Bidens have shown theirs. Another commenter drew comparisons between them. “Let’s see, Jr. was a bartender before Daddy gave him a job while Hunter Biden was a lawyer at a well-known firm, an adjunct prof at Georgetown U, chairman of the board of World Food Program USA, and CEO of investment firm Rosemont Seneca Advisors,” they replied.
Other commenters pointed out the lack of self-awareness Don Jr. has in challenging Hunter Biden to a debate. One commenter brought up more of Hunter’s achievements such as his appointment as head of Amtrak reform board by former President George W. Bush and confirmed by the same Republican senators who are pushing to probe him at the moment despite having no evidence that Hunter was doing anything illegal whilst working at the Burisma in Ukraine.
Prior to his challenging Hunter to a debate, Don Jr. made the same kind of attack on him both in the media and on social media. Trump’s eldest son tweeted an article claiming that Hunter boasted about his political connections while applying for a job as a professor teaching drug policy courses in UCLA School of Law. “It’s almost like the whole Biden family is entity dependent on Joe holding public office?” Tweeted Don Jr.
One commenter pointed out that his full name is literally his father’s name, while others suggested he make the same comment on his sister Ivanka as well as pointing out his job as well as his siblings and brother-in-law Jared Kushner.
