‘Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’ chapter 197: Tamayo outsmarts Muzan’s every move

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba / Facebook

Muzan faces the very real possibility of being killed in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197. But the more interesting part is that the world’s most powerful demon won't’ die in the hands of someone as powerful as Yoriichi, but in the hands of youngsters much weaker than the creator of the first Breath Styles.

And it’s all thanks to his dead foe, Tamayo. Apparently, the gentle Tamayo was like a grandmaster chess player who basically predicted the possibilities that could happen when Muzan confronts the Pillars and made preparations beforehand.

When Muzan faced Yoriichi centuries ago, the Demon Slayer was able to defeat him but he was still able to escape by splitting up his body into numerous pieces. Relying on his regenerative ability, he was able to reform himself once more. But it looks like he won’t be able to do that in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197.

Earlier, Tamayo’s demon cat injected Muzan with the medicine she created. The medicine's effect on Muzan was to age him rapidly at a rate of 50 years per minute. Countering the effects of the medicine greatly exhausted the demon that his movement became sluggish as well.

Aside from aging him, Tamayo’s medicine is also affecting Muzan’s regeneration ability. This means that he will no longer be able to use the same splitting escape technique he employed when he fought with Yoriichi in “Demon Slayer” 197.

Meanwhile, Tamayo’s medicine also took away Muzan’s chance of becoming a daywalker like Nezuko, who already turned back into a human. This means that Muzan would be at a great disadvantage when sunrise arrives in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” 197.

Tamayo also made plans on how to help the pillars wounded by Muzan and poisoned by his blood. She made enough antidote to heal the affected Pillars, who have already slightly recovered when Muzan fought against Obanai Iguro and Tanjiro. This means that some of the Pillars would be able to return to the battlefield and help trap the demon until daylight.

But the biggest threat to Muzan at this point is the fourth and last effect of Tamayo’s medicine, which is likely to fully affect the demon in “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” chapter 197. As explained by Tamayo, it will begin destroying Muzan on a cellular level.

Does this mean that Muzan would finally perish in "Demon Slayer" 197? Stay tuned for more updates.
