SAN JOSE, Calif., Sept. 12, 2017 -- Datos IO, the application-centric cloud data backup company, today announced its participation in leading conferences over the next two months as part of its continued investment in educating organizations on the critical role of cloud data backup and recovery for supporting digital transformation initiatives.

As organizations transform into digital enterprises, they are increasingly turning to hybrid cloud and public cloud infrastructure and scalable, distributed databases to build next-generation, customer-centric applications. However, traditional backup and recovery products rooted in media server architectures and infrastructure-centric data protection for traditional workloads are ill-suited to protect these new cloud native application environments, creating a critical cloud backup and recovery gap.
Unlike traditional data protection products, RecoverX is purpose built to support next-generation cloud applications and non-relational databases such as Cassandra and MongoDB, as well as big data filesystems like HDFS. RecoverX is founded upon Consistent Orchestrated Distributed Recovery (CODR™), Datos IO's next-generation, application-centric data management architecture, that enables use cases including backup directly to the cloud, cloud-native backup, test/dev in the cloud and recoverability of data across cloud boundaries.
In September and October, Datos IO executives will participate in four key industry events:
- Strata Data Conference 2017, September 25-28, 2017 in New York
As the industry’s premier data conference, Strata Data Conference is where cutting-edge science and new business fundamentals intersect and deep dive into emerging technologies and techniques in the big data field. At Strata 2017, Datos IO will join the industry’s thought leaders and showcase next-generation, application-centric backup and recovery for big data-based HDFS filesystems with support for Cloudera and Hortonworks.
- Oracle OpenWorld 2017, October 1-5, 2017 in San Francisco
As the world's largest conference for Oracle customers and technologists, Datos IO will bring to Oracle OpenWorld 2017 its breakthrough cloud data backup solutions for the growing number of enterprises moving their applications and data to Oracle Cloud. Datos IO recently joined the Oracle Partner Network (OPN) as a Silver Partner and is certified for Oracle Cloud Platform ready status.
- NetApp Insight, October 2-5, 2017 in Las Vegas
At NetApp Insight 2017, Datos IO will demonstrate its joint solutions combining NetApp ONTAP, NetApp SolidFire and Datos IO RecoverX to provide application-centric backup and recovery for next generation applications and cloud databases. NetApp is also a strategic investor in Datos IO.
- Couchbase Connect, October 25-26, 2017 in San Jose
Couchbase Connect is where today’s leaders in digital innovation and customer engagement meet. Datos IO will be on hand demonstrating its latest release of RecoverX.
“As organizations accelerate their transition to customer-centric applications, they need enterprise ready next-generation cloud data backup and recovery to fully realize their digital transformation initiatives,” said Peter Smails, vice president, marketing and business development at Datos IO. “These events are ideal forums for educating organizations on the need for protecting cloud applications, the challenges with traditional data protection solutions, and the role that Datos IO application-centric cloud data backup plays in addressing these data protection challenges in the cloud.”
In addition to these industry events, Datos IO continues to invest in the open-source community and will be presenting at the Twin Cities Big Data Analytics and Apache Spark User Group on September 20th. You can learn more and register for that event, here.
