“Daredevil” Season 4 is now heavily discussed by fans of the superhero series as two of its counterparts were recently canceled by Netflix. “Luke Cage” and “Iron Fist” got the ax from the video-streaming giant and fans of Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) are worried that the crime-fighting lawyer of Hell’s Kitchen might be getting the same fate, Comicbook reported.
“Luke Cage” has been canceled due to the supposed creative differences among those running the show. However, it’s still unclear whether this disparity is between showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker and Marvel TV or Netflix and Marvel. As for “Iron Fist,” it’s speculated that the reason for its cancelation is due to its rating performance, something that’s been inherent from the beginning. With both these titles thrown out, how likely is it that a “Daredevil” Season 4 will not be happening?
Judging by the show’s latest season, it’s unlikely that Matt is going to get the ax. Both fans and critics have been praising “Daredevil” Season 3 for its stellar way of reintroducing Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio) and incorporating a new villain in the form of Bullseye (Wilson Bethel). While Netflix hasn’t announced anything yet, the majority of the assumptions on the web are saying that “Daredevil” Season 4 is happening.
Comicbook managed to speak with showrunner Erik Oleson and ask what his sentiments are regarding a possible “Daredevil” Season 4. "Hell yes. I had the time of my life, man. I had so much fun," Oleson said. "If you talk to anybody in the cast and crew, or involved in the production, Season 3 was a very pleasant experience for all of us. And we're all very proud of the teamwork that made the final product possible. So yeah, I'm hopeful that I'll get to do it again."
Oleson’s decision of keeping “Daredevil” Season 3 grounded heavily paid off, as evidenced by the ratings and reviews that the installment received. The showrunner said that he’s quite hopeful that Netflix will greenlight “Daredevil” Season 4, especially now that Bullseye has been fully fleshed out as Kingpin’s enforcer.
