Pepsi is following up a Japanese Christmas-seasonal formula designed to be paired with Japanese-style fried chicken, dubbed Pepsi Zero Karaage Senyo Cola on Dec. 6.
The name translates in English to Pepsi Zero Cola Exclusively for Fried Chicken.
It is said to be lemon flavored to make it a refreshing pairing with the fried Christmas favorite, and with zero calories.
American-style fried chicken, such as KFC, is traditionally enjoyed as a Christmas meal in Japan.
That's why this Pepsi variant is being billed as a Christmas dinner beverage.
The new flavor will only be offered in 600ml bottles, with a label featuring a sizzling batch of crispy fried chicken.
