When the demo for “Cyberpunk 2077” was released last year, fans were blown away by the sheer rush and beauty of the gameplay. However, as is anything related to CD Projekt Red’s games, it would appear that the final product will be quite different compared to the released sample. As for what it could look like, games like “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines” and the “Deus Ex” franchise could provide clues.
As PCGamesN reports, “Cyberpunk 2077” developer Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz recently provided details about the game and revealed that the final product would not be the same as the demo. In fact, it will be considerably different in comparison. As to why this is, the developer said that “the demo shown last year was only a small fragment of the actual game.”
This is something that fans already knew, of course, but they simply didn’t know that it had to change too drastically. Tomaszkiewicz explained that the gameplay was shown during the “Cyberpunk 2077” demo just had to be shifted a bit simply because of how it affected everything else in the game.
It would appear that the developers simply did not anticipate “how the game fits into an open world or how it fits into a larger image of the game. I would say that the game is pretty different to what we [showed] last year.” With this being the case, how exactly will the gameplay for “Cyberpunk 2077” change?
Considering that the title was supposedly inspired by “Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines” and the “Deus Ex” video game series, they could be a template worth looking at. Both properties featured stealth gameplay and considerable choices in character traits. There is also the matter of how choices affect events later on. This will obviously be included in “Cyberpunk 2077.”
With those aspects in mind, it’s clear that “Cyberpunk 2077” will feature ample choices in terms of how players will approach missions and how the story will go. For now, fans are advised not to hold on too tightly to the impressions made by the demo and leave their minds open for the final product.
