Fans’ worries are put to rest when CD Projekt Red confirmed that “Cyberpunk 2077” will be offered on Steam and will not be exclusive to an up-and-coming PC games digital store. Its release date is still a mystery but there are hopes to see more teasers and new gameplay details this year.
Epic Games, the same video game company that developed the worldwide hit “Fortnite,” has made its plans of competing with Steam quite obvious in the previous months. It has struck deals with various developers to exclusively sell games such as “Spellbreaker” and “Metro Exodus” on the Epic Games Store. This turn of events raised concerns among “Cyberpunk 2077” fans.
Yeaaaaaaaaah.... Pass on that.

To set the record straight, CD Projekt Red responded to an online inquiry of whether the game “Cyberpunk 2077” will be an Epic Games Store exclusive. And the Polish video game company had a pretty honest response, “Yeaaaaaaaaah.... Pass on that.”
Meanwhile, some fans replying to the tweet also pointed out that CD Projekt Red has its own digital distribution platform, GOG.com. So it was quite obvious why they will not release “Cyberpunk 2077” exclusively on the Epic Games Store.

The first previews and gameplay walkthrough of “Cyberpunk 2077” was released in major gaming trade shows in 2018. However, the developers still refuse to provide any clue on the game’s release date window. When asked about the title’s launch, the developers always tell fans that the game is “coming when it’s ready.”
There are various claims and so-called information leaks suggesting that the game could be released in late 2019. But fans cannot expect CD Projekt Red to confirm it anytime soon as the company previously promised they will release more teasers first before announcing the launch schedule and opening pre-orders for “Cyberpunk 2077.”
One thing is for sure right now, CD Projekt Red has placed almost all of its resources to the development of “Cyberpunk 2077.” The video game company is certain that losing the game’s former lead writer, Sebastian Stepien, to Blizzard Entertainment will not cause them any delay. They also confirmed to Stockwatch.pl that more than 400 developers are now working on the upcoming game.
