“Criminal Minds” season 15 is going to be the last as CBS is concluding the drama after running on air for 14 years. The show already produced more than 300 episodes since it was launched in 2005 and now the cast and crew just wrapped up filming for its fifteenth installment.
The cast also started to say their farewells to the fans who have been supporting them for years. One of the veteran actors in “Criminal Minds,” Joe Mantegna, recently penned his goodbye letter and he was both nostalgic and emotional. On May 13, he published his note on Twitter and fans got to know that he is already done with filming for “Criminal Minds” season 15.
In his heartfelt message, he also disclosed that he will truly miss playing the character that he has been portraying for more than a decade. Of course, he will miss his colleagues and production team as well.
"I was welcomed by the cast and crew instantly, making me feel part of the team on day one. The next 12 years would be a wild and wonderful ride,” he wrote. “Yes, I will miss playing David Rossi, and I'll miss the wonderful writing that brought him to life, but mostly I will miss seeing my fellow castmates and our fantastic crew everyday."
In any case, “Criminal Minds” season 15 also stars Aisha Tyler (Tara Lewis), Paget Brewster (Emily Prentiss), Daniel Henney (Matt Simmons) and A.J. Cook (JJ Jareau) and all of them also took to social media to show fans a glimpse of their final filming on the set. Tyler had a lengthy farewell note as well and she described the conclusion of “Criminal Minds” ‘a magnificent end to a truly magnificent thing.’ She also got a tattoo to remember her participation in the drama.
Meanwhile, “Criminal Minds” season 15 will end with only 10 episodes and it is expected to air before the year ends and extend to early 2020, as per People.
