The Cleveland Cavaliers have signed a jersey patch deal with flat-rolled steel producer Cleveland Cliffs for the 2022/23 season.
Cliffs will replace tire brand Goodyear as the Cavaliers’ jersey patch sponsor.
The deal matches what the Cavaliers were receiving from the Goodyear deal it signed in 2017 for reportedly over US$10 million annually.
But the Cliffs jersey patch deal is more limited as it does not include the practice jersey patch asset or virtual floor signage for local broadcast games.
The agreement expands the Cavaliers’ multi-year deal with Cliffs, which has branding visibility at one of the north entrances in the glass atrium of the team’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse.
The Cavaliers also have a training kit partnership with blockchain-based fan engagement platform Socios.com,
Len Komoroski, CEO of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, noted that Cliffs has been an anchor for Cleveland and the Great Lakes Region for 175 years.
