‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 20, titled “Generation Gap,” will focus on Dr. Will Halstead’s emotional journey as his own father is admitted at the hospital. It will also focus on the other doctors as they attempt to work on their own personal hurdles.
The lengthy synopsis for “Generation Gap” posted on TV Guide reads, “Family matters unfold for the doctors. Here, Dr. Halstead's (Nick Gehlfuss) father is admitted to the hospital;
Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnell) reflects on his relationship with his father; Robin's (Mekia Cox) odd behavior intensifies; Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) feels the impact of being a working mother; and Sarah (Rachel DiPillo) teaches high-school students about the responsibilities of having a child.”
The upcoming episode will feature the staff of the Gaffney Chicago Medical Center attempting to deal with their personal family affairs. Dr. Halstead will have some problems on his hands when his unsupportive dad (guest star Louis Herthum) is admitted to the hospital against his wishes. Dr. Rhodes will also reflect on his relationship with his own father upon treating Dr. Halstead’s dad.
Meanwhile, Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) will decide to intervene when his daughter, Robin, continues exhibiting strange behavior. It seems that Robin’s condition will intensify in the upcoming episode.
Dr. Choi (Brian Tee), on the other hand, will attempt to help a teenage boy who finds it increasingly difficult to control his sexual urges while Sarah will teach a group of high school students on the responsibilities of having a child through the use of fake baby dolls.
The upcoming episode will be a fascinating look at the relationships between parents and their children. According to Cartermatt, it was speculated that Dr. Halstead’s father may go into critical condition and may eventually meet his demise. It will be interesting to see how Dr. Halstead and his dad rekindle their relationship during trying times in the hospital.
The promo for “Generation Gap” hints at difficult times ahead for Dr. Halstead as he is faced with an emotional situation brought about by his father’s failing heart condition.
‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 20, titled “Generation Gap,” is scheduled to air on NBC on April 13, 2017. It will be followed by episode 21, titled “Deliver Us,” scheduled to be released on April 27.
