‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 13, titled “Thesus’ Ship,” is set to feature Dr. Choi and his colleagues as they work on a woman with a personality disorder. Meanwhile, Dr. Manning struggles to treat a helpless cancer patient.
The synopsis for episode 13 posted on TV Guide reads, “Dr. Rhodes (Colin Donnel) takes a medical trip with Dr. Latham (guest star Ato Essandoh), which puts Latham's personality issues to the test. Also: Dr. Manning (Torrey DeVitto) treats a young cancer patient; an unhealthy woman arrives and refuses to listen to doctors; a case involves a personality disorder.”
It seems that the upcoming episode will feature more drama for the doctors of Gaffney Chicago Medical Center even after the challenges from the previous episode, titled "Mirror Mirror.” In the previous episode, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) had to make a risky decision of operating on a patient who had a handgun stuck inside him. The operation was dangerous for both the patient and the surgical team.
In the new episode, Dr. Choi will have to work on a complicated case of a woman with a personality disorder together with his colleagues Dr. Charles (Oliver Platt) and Dr. Reese (Rachel DiPillo).
According to Cartermatt, focus will also shift to Dr. Rhodes as he invited Dr. Latham for an out of town medical trip. The trip would prove eventful as this would put Dr. Latham’s own personality issues out in the open.
Meanwhile, Dr. Manning is set to treat a young cancer patient, who has given up on life. The promo reveals that the boy has advanced lymphoma. He is taken to the emergency room, to where he experiences a potentially life-threatening seizure.
It is revealed that the boy’s father is just waiting for his son to pass away and withheld his medication in the past months. When Dr. Manning confronts him about it, the father admits that it was his son’s decision. Dr. Manning insists, “He’s eight! He can’t decide.”
The father is then put under arrest while Dr. Manning tells her young patient to fight for his life.
‘Chicago Med’ season 2’s episode 13, titled “Thesus’ Ship,” is scheduled to air on February 9, 2017 on NBC. It will be followed by episode 14, titled "Cold Front," scheduled for February 16.
