‘Chicago Fire’ season 5’s episode 20, titled “Carry Me,” is set to follow Casey as he goes through great lengths to help Kannell. Meanwhile, Severide will be forced to come to terms with the reality of Anna’s deteriorating health while trying to help an old widow let go.
The lengthy synopsis for “Carry Me” posted on TV Guide reads, “Casey (Jesse Spencer) goes to drastic measures to help Kannell (guest star Kamal Angelo Bolden); Severide (Taylor Kinney) helps an old widow come to terms with letting go, but realizes he may be the one needing help;
Otis (Yuri Sadarov) and Cruz (Joe Minoso) find a new roommate to move in; and Dawson (Monica Raymund) and Brett (Kara Killmer) get crafty to save a young girl.”
The upcoming episode is set to follow the core characters as they navigate through their personal hardships. Casey, for one, will go through great lengths to help Kannell with his troubles.
Severide will also deal with his own issue when he decides to do everything he can to help an old widow let go of her pain. However, he will realize that he is the one who actually needs help. Severide is set to go through unbearable emotional turmoil now that Anna’s (Charlotte Sullivan) cancer has recurred.
The promo shows Kinney’s character watching over Anna as she lays on a hospital bed. According to Cartermatt, Anna’s deteriorating state will cause Severide to come to terms with possible saying his farewells. However, it seems that he is not ready to let go of the love of his life.
The upcoming episode will also feature Dawson and Brett as they get creative in order to save the life of a young girl while Otis and Cruz prepare to welcome a new roommate, who moves in with them.
‘Chicago Fire’ season 5’s episode 20, titled “Carry Me,” is scheduled to be released on NBC on May 2, 2017. It will be followed by episode 21, titled "Sixty Days," scheduled to air on May 9.
