One of the franchise’s most popular installments and its last, Burnout Paradise is the open-world marvel that absolutely blew up in the previous generation. Now, a remastered version of the racing and traffic destruction simulator is out, sporting improved graphics, buttery smooth 60fps, and 4K resolution. Best of all, it only costs $40.
As Engadget notes, Paradise was such a marvelous racing title that it practically transcended its genre. The original came out in 2008 and in celebration of its 10-year anniversary, the remastered version will be coming out on March 26th.
On top of all the original soundtracks that came with the game, it will also include all 150 vehicles and the eight expansion packs. These include the premium DLC “Big Surf Island,” where players are free to roam and cause as much mayhem as they want.
For the regular old PS4 and Xbox One, the game will supposedly run on native 1080p. However, for the beefier PS4 Pro and Xbox One X, EA promises that crystal-clear 4K gaming and 60fps racing will be the standard to follow.
"We've given Burnout Paradise a complete graphics overhaul, with high-resolution textures and a range of technical enhancements designed to deliver all the high-octane chaos with an almost irresponsible level of visual fidelity," the video game publisher notes on its site.
With Paradise being the final major installment in the Burnout franchise, it also holds a special place in the hearts of racing fans. The title was a huge departure from previous games in the series, which focused largely on self-contained tracks, The Verge notes.
The goal was still the same, however, in that players would race against others, cause substantial damages with collisions, and collect vehicles. The remaster will also open the online component of the game, which will allow fans of the franchise to compete with others, as they have been itching to do for over 10 years.
