The speculated trade between Brandon Ingram and Bradley Beal is generating a lot of noise in the NBA sphere as the Washington Wizards is supposedly trying to reset their roster. The Wizards is sitting on 8 wins and 12 losses early this season and it seems the organization isn’t pleased with the roster’s performance, ClutchPoints reported.
Fortunately, the team managed to win their recent match against the Houston Rockets, even though James Harden scored 54 points and Eric Gordon draining 36. Bradley Beal and John Wall led the Wizards in the victory with the cores scoring 32 points and 36 points respectively. But the recent win isn’t enough to quell the rumors as the Wizards are supposedly trying to add Brandon Ingram into their roster.
However, this trade would be disadvantageous for the Wizards if the Los Angeles Lakers offer a one-for-one deal. As such, it’s speculated that apart from Brandon Ingram, the Wizards might ask for two more young additions in exchange for Bradley Beal. This, in turn, turns the table on the Lakers as the franchise is trying to build a young core of their own.
This complication is the very reason that the trade between Brandon Ingram and Bradley will not happen. At least, not in the near future. After all, it’s still early in the season and the Wizards might just be heating up, especially now that they managed to beat the Houston Rockets.
There’s also the fact that Brandon Ingram is younger than Bradley Beal and has yet to fully reach his ceiling. Moreover, Earvin “Magic” Johnson is also trying to make a play for Kevin Durant or Anthony Davis.
Kevin Durant will enter free agency next year while Anthony Davis is going to be an unrestricted free agent in 2020. It goes without saying that the addition of one of the two with the Los Angeles Lakers would transform the team into a monster Western Conference contender. With all these on the table, the trade between Brandon Ingram and Bradley Beal seems unlikely to happen.
Of course, nothing is set in stone and the NBA did have a lot of surprising trades occur in the past couple of years. Right now, however, Brandon Ingram and Bradley Beal would likely stay with their respective team for a while as the grind to qualify for the playoffs moves forward.
