Most of the talks about “Boruto” chapter 39 have been about Jigen’s next moves, Naruto being left for dead, and Sasuke’s recovery. But it should not be forgotten that while Jigen was fighting Naruto and Sasuke in a different dimension, Kashin Koji is still lurking around Konohagakure and still undetected.

To recap, Koji was sent to Konohagakure by Jigen to retrieve Kawaki. But Koji was surprised (possibly annoyed, too) to learn that Jigen can simply waltz into the village through a portal. Koji’s previous fight with Konohamaru also proved that he is a serious threat to his opponents, but many are wondering why it is taking him this long to fulfill Jigen’s orders. This is one reason why some believe that “Boruto” chapter 39 will reveal Koji has a different plan in mind.
With that, it has long been theorized that Koji could be Jiraiya. His flawless use of Rasengan, the Toad Sage Mode, and the ability to enter Konohagakure’s borders without alerting the authorities are some factors why many fans think he could be Naruto’s former mentor. If this turns out to be true and the writers are feeling generous, it could be one exciting revelation slated for “Boruto” chapter 39. However, manga fans are still advised to take this theory with a pinch of salt.

What’s most likely happening in “Boruto” chapter 39 is people in Konohagakure facing the dilemma of Naruto being sealed away in another dimension and having not much option to save himself. Jigen is also very likely going after Kawaki again since the Isshiki Otsutsuki vessel is already cracking and needs to be replaced. Luckily, the wait for “Boruto” chapter 39 will soon be over as it will be officially released on Oct. 20.
