‘Boruto’ Episode 89 Air Date, Spoilers: Sarada and Boruto Forced to Fight Each Other Through Genjutsu

Boruto, Kirara.Indra/YouTube

After facing Kakuo in the previous episode and beating him, Sarada and Boruto will be taking on another puppet in the form of Kirara. While the battle maniac fighter of the previous battle was made exactly for that reason, it would seem that the female puppet is stronger than even him. She is a user of powerful genjutu, which she employs to force Sarada and Boruto to fight each other in “Boruto” Episode 89.

As TheAnimeScrolls notes, the title of “Boruto” Episode 89 will be “A Piercing Heart,” which is not as telling as it sounds. Does it pertain to Sarada or Boruto getting their hearts pierced or Kirara? The next episode will answer this question soon enough and will likely involve the two young ninjas hurting each other before the matter can be resolved.

As the preview clip below also shows, there will be a bunch of other developments going on in “Boruto” Episode 89 that will be of interest to viewers who are curious as to what Mitsuki is doing. Based on the video, it would seem that while his friends are battling for their lives, he is just messing around in a clinic. Why are Boruto and Sarada trying to rescue him again?

In any case, “Boruto” Episode 89 will also be another episode to showcase the tendency of the puppets to display cruel behavior. Kakuo insisted on fighting and hurting others through his own skills. Kirara appears to be a sadist who likes to make friends fight themselves as a twisted form of entertainment.

These are not the puppets that Onoki set out to create, and they have clearly betrayed their master. As such, “Boruto” Episode 89 will serve as a reminder that things created with good intention can just as easily go against that goal when it airs on Jan. 13.
