With the manga being only 30 chapters in, there are still a lot of things about “Boruto” that fans don’t know anything about. However, it was clear from the previous chapter that things in Kara are not as homogenous as previously thought. Koji clearly has nefarious plans for the group and Delta’s fight with Naruto in “Boruto” Chapter 31 might be his chance to set his betrayal of Jigen into motion.
As TheAnimeScrolls notes, Koji has revealed his intentions to betray Kara and its leader in the previous chapter with a comment regarding Jigen’s potential self-healing capabilities. As a Karma user, it’s clear that the head of the criminal organization is going to be troublesome to deal with. Koji thought as much before Delta arrived on the scene to disrupt his reconnaissance. This might turn out to be to his advantage in “Boruto” Chapter 31.
On the matter of the fight, both fans and publications have already declared Naruto’s victory as a foregone conclusion. Everyone seems quite secure in the fact that the current Hokage is essentially a god thanks to his mastery of his own chakra. If this does end up being the case in “Boruto” Chapter 31, it would make for a boring fight.
Even so, Delta’s threat to Naruto or lack thereof might not be the point to the bout, at all. It could simply serve as a means for Koji to earn her trust so that he could be closer to Jigen. This could be his only reason for helping her out. It’s likely that the Kara leader already knows of his intentions, but every little bit counts. “Boruto” Chapter 31 could be the start of this.
It would be great if “Boruto” Chapter 31 featured a fight that will actually make Naruto work for his victory. Whatever the case may be, fans will find out soon enough when the chapter comes out on Jan. 28.
