Bloomberg BNA, as a part of its next series, announced an afternoon briefing ‘Growing a FinTech Enterprise: Legal and Business Frameworks’ that will focus on helping fintech firms prepare for the regulations of the future.
The release stated that the event will take place at the Washington, D.C. offices of Bloomberg Government the on the afternoon of November 16. The event will be underwritten byby Sullivan & Cromwell and will comprise of series of panel discussions.
“Insight into current enforcement action, coupled with the outcome of the recent election, provides FinTech leaders a window into the regulations of tomorrow. New regulations will most likely have a dramatic impact on FinTech, and industry leaders, as well as those responsible for regulating FinTech, will frame the issues to pay attention to as we move into 2017 and beyond at this post-election briefing,” Mike MacKay, President, Cross Platform Businesses, Bloomberg BNA said.
The event will begin with a panel focused on the priorities in the next administration and 115th Congress that are related to consumer protection, cybersecurity and risk management. The panel may impact fintech’s continued growth in an atmosphere of significant government regulation. This will be followed by the second panel on opportunities presented by the industry’s evolution and how legacy financial intuitions and startups are finding ways to collaborate and fuel growth.
The event panelist will include experts in the field of fintech including Ram Ahluwalia, CEO of PeerIQ; Thomas C. Baxter, Jr., Of Counsel from Sullivan & Cromwell; Andres Wolberg-Stok, Director of Citi FinTech, among others.
