Marvel Entertainment has yet to release official updates about “Black Panther 2.” But those who already saw “Avengers: Endgame” already have an idea on whether or not King T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman) will return on the big screen.
“Avengers: Endgame” is still screening on cinemas worldwide and many fans might not have seen the movie yet. Meanwhile, it also revealed some possible clues about the future of Wakanda in “Black Panther 2.” So, as a fair warning, note that this article contains some spoilers of the said movie.
First off, and possibly not at all surprising, Shuri (Letitia Wright) and T’Challa were revived in “Avengers: Endgame.” It was also not clear if Queen Ramonda (Angela Bassett) survived Thanos’ snap in “Infinity War” but the final moments of “Endgame” confirmed she is alive and will be most likely back in “Black Panther 2.”
Okoye’s (Danai Gurira) survival was out of the question. She seemed somewhat preoccupied, though, in the first half of “Endgame” on some mission that the movie did not elaborate. However, her few meetings with the now-dead Black Widow a.k.a. Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) might have revealed some very telling details on the “Black Panther 2” main villain.
The remaining Avengers, including Okoye, did not immediately jump into their time travel suits to undo Thanos’ snap and most of their activities, initially, consist of meetings. For one, Black Widow was talking to several living Avengers including Okoye where the latter reported she is currently busy and what she says next might have been a little teaser for “Black Panther 2.”
Okoye tells Romanoff that she needs to observe recurring underwater earthquakes in some parts of Africa closely. This will immediately ring a bell for avid Marvel fans as possibly the works of Namor the Sub-Mariner. Now that “Endgame” might have already revealed Namor is already causing havoc in Africa, it is then very possible that he is T’Challa’s next big problem in “Black Panther 2.”
It might take a while before Marvel unveils official details on “Black Panther 2.” But the sequel is anticipated to be part of the MCU Phase 4 lineup and even speculated to be released in late 2020 or early 2021.
