“Black Mirror” Season 4 Spoilers: Charlie Brooker Discuss His Worries Over “Predictions” About Reality In His Sci-Fi Series; “A Journey Through Science Fiction” UK Exhibit Offers Immersive Experience About Show

As filming for Season 4 of “Black Mirror” is still underway, series creator Charlie Brooker discusses his worries about the scenarios he had concocted for the show’s upcoming episodes coming true to real life.

Den of Geek UK said Brooker is aware of the notion that some of the episodes mirrored reality in certain cases. There was “The Waldo Moment,” which featured in real life how Donald Trump rise to become President of the United States. Series opener “The National Anthem,” which made reference to former prime minister David Cameron and the 2015 “Piggate” scandal. Series 3 episode “Nosedive” featured how people in real-life crave for social acceptance.

In a recent interview with Radio Times, he said, "Weirdly there was one news story I read the other day that I thought “Oh, how does that reflect on an episode we’ve already finished shooting?" There was some new discovery made. Hopefully not, but then when writing them I never think any of these are going to come true, and then it seems like some of them do. Which is a bit worrisome, generally.

However, Brooker expressed that it is possible that the scenarios for Season 4 will not happen in real life. He added, "For this coming season they’re quite far out there so I don’t envisage that being a problem. Although if that does happen the world is really f*****...well, the world is really f*****, so we'll see."

Meanwhile, fans can have an immersive experience of the show in June, thanks to Barbican Centre. The entrance hall of the London arts center will reportedly play host to the new science fiction exhibition titled “Into the Unknown: A Journey Through Science Fiction.” One of the installations will be a six-foot video installation recreating scenes from the episode “Fifteen Million Merits.” The installation, along with others from other science fiction movies including “Star Wars,” “Interstellar,” “Alien,” and “Jurassic Park,” will be on display until September 1.
