The previous episode of “Black Clover” saw Asta teaming up with Mimosa and the mysterious mage named Xerx in the matches for the Royal Knights selection exam. At first, the masked figure will seem lazy and uninterested in working with the show’s main character. However, “Black Clover” Episode 75 might just show this mysterious figure having something up his sleeve and deceiving Asta in the process.
As TheAnimeScrolls recently pointed out, Xerx does not currently appear to be the most reliable of partners in a battle. He is dismissive, rude, and would not listen at all. This will then lead Asta to act on his own in “Black Clover” Episode 75, which is never a good idea. True to form, the noisy magic swordsman only causes trouble.
Without Asta knowing, however, Xerx will be laying down a trap for their opponents that will eventually lead him to win. Thanks to the condition of the matches appearing so favorable to the enemy, they will let their guard down. The lazy appearance of the lounging Xerx will also help to sell this deception while he works on actually winning the match in “Black Clover” Episode 75.
Of course, this isn’t to say that Asta will play no role in actually achieving victory in the upcoming episode. While it isn’t yet known how far along the events will flow in “Black Clover” Episode 75, his efforts will at least help in keeping the opponents at bay. Even so, this will add up to nothing more than the wielder of the black sword being used as a pawn in the game Xerx is playing.
When “Black Clover” Episode 75 drops on March 19, viewers will see the true extent of Asta’s incompetence in a battle involving wits. One can only hope that he does more than yell fans’ ears off in the upcoming episode.
